| Palandöken is a mountain range in the East of Turkey. The Anatolian highland is famous for its snow warranty. Base camp for our ski tours is the big city Erzurum, which is located on aprox. 2.000 m. Due to its cold weather and snow Erzurum is one of the most popular skiing centres of Turkey. But its not only the Palandöken which offers great skiing opportunities. Sevral mountains around Erzurum, all around 3.000 m, reachable by a short transfer from the city, waiting for wonderful skiing tours. The weather in the Spring time is mostly very cold but sunny. Only few kilometers distanced from Erzurum, small villages in the lower skirts of the mountains frm where we are starting our skiing tours on mostly powder snow. | Tour itinary: 1st day: Flight to Istanbul, transfer to hotel and overnight here. 2nd day: Transfer to the airport, further flight to Erzurum. Transfer to the hotel in the city centre. Its possible to go for skiing in the Palandöken skiing centre. 3rd day: After the breakfast we are starting to the last village beneath the mountain Karakaya . Directly in the village we are stepping to our skies and ascending 3 hours to the summit. Skiing downhill to the same village and transfer to the hotel. The ascend is approx. 1.000 m. The steepness of the moutain is around 25° - 30°. 4th day: Less than half an hour transfer to the village below the mountain Egerli. zum Egerli, further ascending from here around 1.000 m to the summit of Egerli, then downhill 25° - 30° to the village back. Transfer to the hotel. 5th day: One hour drive by coach to the mountain Mescit Tepe on 1.800 m. The ascend takes 1.200 m, 3-4 hours to the summit. The ski downhill is like usually in these mountains: 25° - 30°. The transfer back to the hotel takes also an hour. 6th day: Next mountain is Ortuzu Tepe, which is reachable after an hour drive. The ascend from 1.800 m takes 1.200 m. Great downhill, mostly on powder snow. Transfer back to hotel. 7th day: Its now the other side of the other face of the Mount Karakaya. Transfer takes a little more than half an hour. The ascend begins from 1.900 m and takes 3-4 hours to the summit. Downwhill from the summit 25° - 30°.
