Tour itinary:
1st day: Arrival
Flight to Istanbul, transfer to the Hotel in the city centre.
2nd day: Flight to Van
In the morning we have a transfer to the airport and further flight to Van which is located in an altitude of 1.720 m. After the transfer to the hotel there is free time to explore the old town centre and also visiting the Van castle in the afternoon for a brillant sunset. We are staying in an hotel in Van.
3rd day: Ski tour to Mt. Artos 3.537m
In the morning an hour transfer by coach to the town Gevas, below the mountain. We stepping to our skies just near the town and starting to ascend from here. Depending on eather the start is on 2.000 m or 2.200 m. 3 - 4 hours of ascend before we are skiing downhill. The view from the top of the mountain to Van Lake is genial. After arring downside transfer around the bisggest lake of Turkey to Ahlat, to our hotel.
4th day: Ski tour Mt. Süphan, 4.058m
One of the most beautiful mountains of Turkey for skiing. Early in the morning an hour transfer to the last village Kiskili, 2.400 m, on the skirts of the mountain. Ascending 5 to 6 hours from here to the summit. If the weather is nice, we will have a great view to the whole lake. Finally ski downhill from 4.000 m! Transfer to Ahlat for accommodation..
5th day: Dogubayazit
3 hours transfer to the town Dogubayazit near Mt. Ararat, On the way rest at the Muradiye waterfall. In Dogubayazit last preparations for the climb. Accommodation in the hotel.
6th day: Base Camp
Transfer by coach to the last houses on the mountain, village Eli. From here the luggage will be packed on horses . We are wlking up with day pack. Depending on snow conditions ski could be taken for the ascend to our base camp on 2.800 m. We are staying here in tents.
7th day: Ascending to the upper camp
It takes approx. 3 hours to the upper camp on 3.750 m. Sleeping in tents in the upper camp.
8th day: Summit Mt. Ararat, 5.173 m
Waking up at 03.00 h for the early berakfast and starting to ascend to the highest point of Turkey by ski. If the snow conditions will be good, we are ascending till the summit with our skis and skiing downhill to the high camp for a second breakfast, then further to the base camp. Overnight in tents in the base camp. If we have to use a reserve day due to weather conditions, we are descend to village Eli directly and have a transfer to Dogubayazit.
9th day: Descanding to Eli, Dogubeyazit, reserve day
Descabd to Eli, then bus our coach to Dogubayazit. We stay over night in the hotel in Dogubayazit.
10th day: Van - Istanbul - flight home
Early in the morning trnasfer to Van, domestic flight to Istanbul and further home.
