Trekking St. Pauls Trail

St. Pauls trail is taking you to a landscape which is uniquely in Turkey. Steep rugged rocks, impressive sceneries, traditional mountain villages with their friendly people. Wild paths trailing up to mountain pastures.pine trees, smelling resinously, old Romain roads down to the small village downside the village. Villagers calling to have a tea with them to the house. Fruit trees everywhere, behind the snow covered the huge Mount Davras (2.635 m). St. Pauls trail, waymarked 2004 belongs already now to one of the best treks of the Mediteranean area.

Tour Itinary:

1st day: Flight to Antalya

Arriving in Antalya and transfer to hotel.

2nd day: Acclimatising
Visiting first the ruin city Perge, along his footsteps of St. Paul where he was staying for a while his mission 47 a. c.. After a short visit we are starting to walk in Akcapinar: Through pine forests up to the Ucansu waterfall, a small water paradise deep in the forest.

3rd day: Toros Mountains

The wide Antalya plain in the back and the high Toros mountains, we are walking upside. Nature and culture. In the afternoon we make a detour to the ruins of the Pisidian city Pednilissos.

4th day: Pine forests
We are walking leisurely through pine scented forests. In the East having views up to 2.550 m high Mt. Bozburun. We are spending the night In Pinargözü, near the trout farm in tents.

5th day: From village to village

A great day for photographers! The path is taking us in forest and rock sceneries, then passing villages, and finally marvelling the lake Karacaören. Short transfer the the Guest house in Candir.

6th day: In the national park
The Yazili-Canyon: We are walking on old Romain footh trails through a romantic canyon to Yesildere. picturesque scenries changing to holm oak forests. After 20 minutes we are reaching the hotel in Sütcüler.

7th day: Untouched nature
Today we are walking in the wild nature, a real festival for the soul. And in the evening coming back to the small town Sütcüler!

8th day: Ancient Pisidia - Adada

A perfect surprise: The 2.000 years old stone slabs are leading us through pine forests to the ancient city Adada. The incompleted theatre, temple and the agora were buried so they escaped from all the earthquakes of the long time. Now rediscovered, the ruins are inviting to a break at lunch time.

9th day: Further to North
After 45 minutes of driving we are reaching the village Sipahiler and starting our walk from here along fields and limestonerocks and descending finally to the Kovada Nationalpark to typical karst formations. After the walking we have a transfer to Egirdir, one hour..

10th day: Relaxing at Lake Egirdir

This day we are proding the opputunity to have a boat trip on the fourth biggest lake of Turkey (facultative)

11th day: Closed to the sky
The last walk in holm oak forests is taking us on 1.600 m altitude. There will be 2 hightlights, the ruins of the old trade city Prostanna and the colossal view to the lake.

12th day: Driving back to Side

After 2 1/2 hours we are reaching the 3 star beach hotel in Side..

13th and 14th day: Deserved relaxing

Relaxing in the hotel or opportunity to have further day walks in the area..

15th day: Time to say good bye

Transfer to the airport and flight back home.
